Pocono Record reports that "slots revenues fell during the first full week under the state's new smoking ban."
Gross terminal wagers were down almost five percent to $30 million on wagers of $389 million. The drop was spread among most of the casinos, with decreases in wagers ranging between 1 percent and 13 percent. The state's payout rate remained unchanged at 91.3 percent.
Mount Airy fared slightly better than most casinos. The casino resort posted $3.3 in gross terminal wagers, a drop of 4 percent, and wagers of $46 million, a 2 percent loss.
