"The city by the bay" is at it again. An article in the Bay Area Reporter (www.ebar.com) reports that San Francisco's City Hall is considering an ordinance that would further tighten limits on where people can smoke.
The ordinance, sponsored by Supervisor Chris Daly, would prohibit most bars and nightclubs from having smoking areas, and forbid smoking in enclosed common areas of multi-unit housing complexes, unenclosed restaurant dining areas, and in lines for everything from ATMs to buses, among other places. The ordinance would also include a ban on smoking within 20 feet of the entrances of commercial buildings.
State law already prohibits smoking in restaurants and bars.
