NEWARK, OH - The impending statewide smoking ban which passed in Ohio this week, has designated hotel rooms, some family-owned businesses, outdoor patios, private clubs, and enclosed areas in nursing homes exempt status. Currently, in Newark, there is a local ban in place that exempts any business which receives 85% or more of its sales from alcohol. The new statewide ban is expected to take place in December, but will not be enforced until June '07.
