AUSTIN, TX - To comply with the current smoking ordinance in Austin, bars and restaurants are required to remove all smoking accessories (ashtrays, etc.) and post "No Smoking" signs. That, however, is where their responsibity ceases, and the enforcement shifts focus to each individual who chooses to disregard the ban. Attorneys for the City of Austin announced their plan to appeal this particular ruling in order to hold businesses responsible for stronger enforcement measures, or face a fine.
