Galveston Daily News, reports on the seventh annual South Shore Dockside Food and Wine Festival, which will take place on October 18 in League City, Texas. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, they hope the festival will help citizens take their minds off the devastation from the recent hurricanes and "start enjoying life again." - G.K.
"We're going to have beautiful weather, the best wines, the best entertainment and the most fun — just what everyone needs right about now," said special events manager Theresa Graham. "We're calling it "Sippin' on the Dock of the Bay" and that's because it's going to be all about the wine. We're also having wonderful upscale food, from Bailey's American Grille, Gio's Flying Pizza and Pasta, La Dolce Vino and San Lorenzo Mexican Restaurant, among others. And we're going to have at least 20 booths of merchants and plenty of other exhibitors as well."
In addition, Texas' own offbeat cowboy philosopher and author Kinky Friedman will be on hand at the festival to take pictures with fans, sign copies of his books and promote his newest venture, Kinky Friedman cigars, to his fellow tobacco lovers.
