To paraphrase the great Frank Sinatra, "the summer
blend came rolling in from across the sea." In this
case, it's a summer blend, not a summer wind and it's from the Dominican Republic, so it's really from across the ocean, but you get the picture.
The mid-July release of Partagas Cifuentes® Summer Blend, a limited availability, three cigar collection, conjures up images of a cool ocean breeze enjoyed in the company of a deeply satisfying, handcrafted Dominican cigar. Of course, the scenario isn't complete unless there's a little Frank playing in the background.
Developed by iconic Cigar Masters Daniel Nuñez and Benji Menendez as a continuing tribute to Ramon Cifuentes, the legendary Cuban cigar master who originally developed the Partagas brand, Partagas Cifuentes Summer Blend cigars are meticulously crafted according to Cifuentes' exacting standards.
Bill Chilian, director of marketing for Partagas cigars notes, "Partagas Cifuentes Summer Blend cigars are set to debut just as the limited supply of the Partagas Cifuentes Fall Blend is nearly depleted at retail. While the summer offering is significantly different from the Fall blend, we're confident that it will be equally well-received."
Medium-to-full in body and bursting with a bouquet of flavors, Partagas Cifuentes Summer Blend cigars are dressed in a limited quantity, lustrous, sun-ripened Honduran San Agustin wrapper and made with a proprietary Connecticut Havana Seed binder and a selection of Dominican, Honduran and Mexican fillers. Like its sister brand Partagas Spanish Rosado, Partagas Cifuentes Blend burns slowly and evenly into a stark white ash, although the wrapper tobacco used in both brands is in fact different.
Partagas Cifuentes Summer Blend's frontmarks are appropriately named in Spanish for the three months of summer and are packaged in boxes of 20. Junio is a 5 ½" x 49 round cigar that will sell for a suggested retail price of $5.70 per cigar, or $114.00 per box. Another round cigar, Julio measures 6" x 54 and will be available for $6.25 per cigar at retail, or for $125.00 per box. The Agosto frontmark is a figurado cigar which measures 4 ½" x 60 and will retail for $5.25 per cigar, or $105.00 per box.
As with its predecessor Partagas Cifuentes 2004 Fall Selection, the blend used in Partagas Cifuentes Summer Blend will never be duplicated.
