Chuck Meyer never played guitar very seriously. And he never smoked cigars.
But that doesn’t keep Meyer, a mechanical engineer, from pursuing a most unusual hobby: Creating guitars (and mandolins) out of cigar boxes.
“It’s all about making music simply,” says Meyer, of New Lenox, who last picked up a guitar — a real guitar — when he was 17.
