A Jersey girl named Dallas is about to light up the road with a 2005 Mustang® convertible, thanks to General Cigar, the maker of Macanudo®, the number-one-selling premium cigar brand in the U.S.
The "torch red" muscle car was the grand prize in General Cigar's annual RTDA trade show giveaway which took place in the Big Easy on August 9th. It was awarded to Dallas Snyder, a Mt. Laurel, NJ resident and retail general manager for Philadelphia-based Holts Cigar Company.
In winning the Mustang, Dallas became the envy of tobacconists across the U.S. During the RTDA show, more than 900 retailers who visited the General Cigar booth qualified to win the Mustang, but it was Dallas who held the lucky key which fired up the engine.
"It was shocking! I turned the key and thought I heard it start, but there was a void for a second before I realized that I'd actually won," she recalled.
The top-of-the-line Mustang boasts a charcoal leather interior and trim, a 6 CD changer and MP3 player, 16" machined aluminum wheels and enough horsepower to leave a string of thoroughbreds in the dust.
This is the second Mustang for Dallas, who drove a red Mustang Gia during her high school and college days in the seventies.
Ironically, Snyder just bought a new Saturn Ion® in "pacific blue." She was quick to point out that the new blue is going to have to hit the road, in place of the red hotrod.
Synder plans to take the performance sports car for a joyride to North Carolina to visit her parents. They shouldn't expect a turn in the driver's seat, though. When asked if she'll let anyone else take her Mustang for a spin, Dallas emphatically replied, "no way, it's my toy."
Two things are certain for Dallas. One, she's going to be turning heads on her way to work at Holt's in Philly, and two, it looks like she's going to be taking out a classified ad. It will probably read something like this: "FOR SALE&Saturn Ion. Barely driven. Owner needs to make room for a smokin' red hot Mustang."
