Passing a South Dakota smoking ban with no exceptions would smoke out almost half the business at a Sioux Falls lounge. The owner of Stogeez Cigar Lounge says he sells almost ten thousand cigars at his lounge every year, that's why he's asking legislators to exempt his business from the proposed ban.
"We'll lose quite a bit of business because of it. Because, probably 50 to 60 percent of the people that come in here are coming in to smoke a cigar. So, we'll lose that business there's no doubt," Kant said.
Stogeez Cigar Lounge in downtown Sioux Falls is one of only a few bars of its kind in South Dakota, that's why owner Tim Kant is pushing lawmakers to exempt businesses like his from a state-wide smoking ban.
