General Cigar will be the toast of Tampa this weekend, with sampling events that are on par with "The Big Game" itself.
Franco Harris Events
Steelers Alum and NFL Hall of Famer Franco Harris is pulling out the big guns in support of his former team and General Cigar will be on hand to make the festivities more festive.
Franco will kick off the Big Game weekend with his annual Grid Iron golf tournament and Immaculate Reception fundraiser. Nearly 3 dozen current and former players will be on hand to join Franco in rooting for the Steelers and raise money for "Soldier’s Angel’s," a non-profit organization that supports deployed soldiers and their families. The list of confirmed attendees includes Hank Bauer (San Diego Chargers); Eric Dickerson (LA Rams), Dave Duerson (Chicago Bears); Brian Kelley (NY Giants); Lydell Mitchell (Baltimore Colts); Matt Robinson (NY Jets); Jon Runyan (Philadelphia Eagles); John Stallworth (Pittsburgh Steelers); Mike Tomczak (Chicago Bears) and Bryon Williams (Green Bay Packers).
To assist Franco in his efforts to support our troops and their families, General Cigar will sample Macanudo 1968, Cohiba Puro Dominicana, Punch Grand Cru (a favorite of Franco's), Excalibur Legend, Don Tomas and La Gloria Cubana, and has contributed auction items, including a retired Serie R Limitada Retrospectivo humidor.
Rolls Royce
While we’re name dropping, we thought we'd mention that General Cigar is the exclusive cigar partner for the Rolls Royce Big Game party which will be held at a private estate in St. Petersburg. Nearly 400 VIPs of Rolls Royce will enjoy a selection of Macanudo, Cohiba, Excalibur, La Gloria Cubana and Punch cigars in the Club Macanudo lounge that will be erected on the waterfront.
Macanudo 1968 Red Zone Sweepstakes
In other news, Tommy Margules, the Chicagoland native who won the Macanudo 1968 Red Zone sweepstakes, just arrived in Tampa with a Flip camera in hand. He'll document his Big Game experiences and will post live updates to the Macanudo 1968 Twitter site for those who want a taste of the action.
Post-game access to his videos will be available on YouTube and MetaCafe, as well as cigar user forums such as CigarWorld.com. He'll also share his videos with his personal Facebook network.
Tommy entered to win the Macanudo 1968 Red Zone sweepstakes at Cigars & More in Libertyville, IL. His once-in-a-lifetime trip includes two tickets to the big game, full access to NFL Experience fan fest, deluxe gift bags, tickets to the hospitality suite and more, totaling over $10,000.
For those of you in the Chicago area, be sure to pick up a copy of tomorrow's Daily Herald, for an article about Tommy and his big win.
NFL Team Owners to Get a Piece of the Action
If the above wasn't enough, General Cigar secured a golden opportunity to furnish NFL team owners attending the game with cigars to enjoy during the weekend. £
