Four of the last five known boxes in existence will be sold at auction
EASTON, PA -- One of the world's best, and now rarest premium cigars, the discontinued Oliva Serie 'V'
Ligero Maduro, has resurfaced at Famous Smoke Shop, albeit temporarily. Four boxes of five 10 Count
Torpedo Maduro that were
found in the warehouse will be auctioned off on Tuesday, June 2. 2009 at
CigarAuctioneer.com with a starting bid of just $1.00.
Famous Smoke Shop sampler creator, Humberto Gonzalez, discovered the missing boxes. "I couldn't believe it when I saw them," said Gonzalez. "Part of my job is checking on closeouts. As I was going through the list, the report showed I had five boxes of Oliva Serie 'V' Ligero Maduro Torpedo. I was sure it was a mistake until I went into the warehouse to see for myself. After a long search, I was about give up until I finally found the boxes hidden behind a stack of J. Fuegos. Now, the question was, what to we do with them?"
Like the Oliva Serie 'V' in the Habano Sun Grown wrapper, the Maduro also had a robust blend of Nicaraguan Jalapa Valley Ligero longfillers and Nicaraguan binder, but was rolled in a flawless Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper in very limited edition.
"We decided the best thing to do was put the cigars on CigarAuctioneer.com, and may the best man win," added Gonzalez. "These are really something special."
In case you’re wondering, the 5th box will be shamelessly consumed by the Famous Smoke Shop staff.
To bid on the box, interested cigar smokers should log onto cigarauctioneer.com as early as possible on Tuesday, June, 2. Those who are not registered with CigarAuctioneer.com can do so by going to the registration page.
The auction close Monday, June 8, at 9:59 PM (EDT).
