Partagas And Punch Get Tubed, Cubed

Three New Individually Tubed Cigars Debut in July
Just in time for backyard barbeques, 18 holes of golf and leisurely drives, General Cigar is rolling out three individually tubed, highly portable frontmarks, which make their retail debut in July.

The venerable Partagas® brand will welcome the Padre frontmark to its lineup.  Padre measures
6" x 50 and will be available at retail for a suggested price of $6.00 per individually tubed cigar, or $120.00 for a box of 20 tubed cigars.  At the same time that Partagas Padre debuts, Partagas Sabroso will be unveiled with a new look, after having had an "extreme makeover."  Protected in its newly designed tube, Sabroso still bears its original measurements (5 7/8" x 44) and SRP ($5.60 per cigar, or $112.00 for a box of 20 cigars).

Speaking of Sabroso, Partagas Spanish Rosado® will welcome its own Sabroso frontmark, a tubed offering with the same length and ring gauge (5 7/8" x 44) as its sister brand.  Sabroso marks the first tubed cigar in the Spanish Rosado collection. It comes with a suggested retail price of $5.25 per cigar, or $105.00 per 20-count box.

Consumers will find it easy to spot Partagas Padre, Partagas Sabroso and Partagas Spanish Rosado Sabroso cigars at retail. The tubos will be included in a Partagas tube display, which will also contain Partagas Black Label Maximo, a popular tubed cigar that debuted last year.

The full-bodied Punch Gran Puro® line will also have its first tubular offering, thanks to the Libertad frontmark. A 5" x 52 individually tubed cigar, Libertad will cost $5.50 per cigar, or $110.00 for a box of 20 tubos.  Libertad will debut at select tobacco retailers in July, and will be available nationally beginning in September.

Cooper Gardiner, General Cigar's vice president of marketing comments, "Consumer demand for tubed cigars is fueling this prevalent trend within the cigar industry.  Since the new tubed cigars offer freshness and portability, which are two important criteria for premium cigar smokers, we believe that they will be fast-selling additions to the Partagas and Punch portfolios."
