Billed as "The Ultimate Marriage of Golf and Cigars," the 11th Annual Montecristo Cup Charity Pro-Am will take place at the world-class Casa de Campo Resort in the Dominican Republic December 2nd through 6th, 2009.
A select group of amateur golfers will join top PGA and Champions Tour pros for three rounds of tournament golf on two of the Caribbean's most celebrated courses – the legendary Teeth of the Dog and the spectacular Dye Fore course with its dramatic 300- foot cliffs overlooking the Chavón River.
Participants savor all the luxury Montecristo and other Altadis U.S.A. cigars they can smoke, enjoy gourmet cuisine and free-flowing spirits and experience the many fabulous amenities of this world-class resort. A valuable golfer's gift package, prizes and awards are included, as is a tour of the nearby Tabacalera de Garcia where Montecristos and many other legendary cigars are handmade.
Recent Champion's Tour Player of the Year Dana Quigley calls the Montecristo Cup, "By far the best pro-am I've ever played in." Pros and amateurs literally do everything together from breakfast in the morning to the after-dinner cigars.
Because proceeds benefit the Montecristo Relief Organization, which provides aid to victims of natural disasters in the United States and the Caribbean, a sizable percentage of the $5,250 entry free is tax deductible.
