Miami, FL - Rene Castaneda, Managing Director and National Sales Manager of
Miami Cigar & Company, announced today that all of their Customer Service Representatives, as well as their 13 Regional Sales
personnel have completed the course given by
Tobacconist University.
Each of the individuals received their Certified Tobacconist certificate signed by Jorge Luis Armenteros, founder of Tobacconist University.
Armenteros, who owns A Little Taste of Cuba, a tobacconist in Princeton, NJ and New Hope, PA, created the "University," in order to educate sales persons at tobacconist shops, and to professionalize the service customers receive.
Armenteros began developing the curriculum in 1996, and the website went up in 2004. A very hands on Tobacconist, himself, Jorge Luis was determined to improve the caliber of staffs at as many tobacconists as possible.
Nestor Miranda, President of Miami Cigar, became interested in the program when he realized that of his six (6) CSRs, only two (2) had ever stepped inside a tobacconist's shop!
In addition to Miranda's interest, Rene Castaneda, who lived in Princeton, NJ and was very familiar with Armenteros' shop, became very impressed with the way the sales staff at, A Little Taste of Cuba, functioned. Armenteros was both a customer and a friend.
Having lived in Princeton, and having done business with Armenteros for years, Castaneda prevailed upon him to come to Miami and run a seminar for the sales staff.
Even Nestor Miranda, after twenty (20) years in the industry…has been certified! £
