Cigar Monster Deal

General Cigar lights-up celeb-filled events

General Cigar has been very busy helping entertainers entertain themselves, and others, in a series of recent celebrity-oriented events at which their premium cigars were also some of the stars on- hand, or rather, "in-hand." Here are some of the highlights:

Guy's Choice Awards
General Cigar's PR team rolled with the A-list at Spike TV's inaugural "Guy's Choice Awards." General Cigar was the only non-advertiser to have a presence at the event.

The Guy's Choice green room, where celebs including Will Ferrell, Kevin James, Steve O and his cohorts from Jackass partied and picked up cigars, was styled to look like a gentleman's club, replete with barber shop chairs and bear skin rugs. Lee Majors (the 6 Million Dollar Man) and ash kicking Chuck Lidell were also there, as were the top brass from MTV Networks.

La Gloria Cubana's master roller, Leo Peraza, was on hand to turn out hand-rolled cigars during the entire taping of the show.

Rock-n-roll was also there in force with Styx, ZZ Top and Disturbed hanging in the green room and stocking up on General Cigar favorites including Macanudo, Cohiba and La Gloria Cubana. Speaking of ZZ Top, Billy Gibbons (lead singer/guitarist) was accessorized with a Cohiba Pequeno which remained in his mouth while he belted out "Sharp Dressed Man" to a packed house at CBS Radford Studios.

Adam Sandler walked away with the top honors: the "Brass Balls" award. He was also given a box of Cohiba Black Robustos to help him celebrate his big win.

Be sure to tune into the Spike Guy's Choice Awards which is hosted by SNL alum and 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan. The show airs on Wed. night, June 13 at 10 PM on Spike TV.

Yogi Berra Celebrity Golf Tournament
On the heels of the Spike "Guy's Choice" awards, General Cigar was on hand at the annual Yogi Berra Museum Celebrity Golf Classic which was held yesterday (Monday) at the Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, NJ.

Yogi himself was joined by Joe Torre, Johnny Damon, Rudy Giuliani, Danny Aiello, Don Mattingly, Roger ClemensDaryl Strawberry and Boby Mercer, among others who enjoyed a day of golf to help raise funds for the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center which is designed to teach children about respect and sportsmanship  through sports-based education programs and exhibits.

Macanudo, Partagas, Punch, Hoyo de Monterrey and La Gloria Cubana cigars were given to each of the golfers who also walked away with complimentary cocktail cards for Club Macanudo.

General Cigar has a close relationship with Larry Berra, Yogi's son. Larry is an avid cigar smoker is an ambassador for General Cigar.

Tiki Barber Rocks the Square
General Cigar recently supported Tiki Barber in his efforts to raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network. Tiki threw a bash at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square New York City, which was headlined by Jon Bon Jovi. During the evening, the Club Macanudo logo appeared on the NASDAQ in Times Square while event attendees helped themselves to Macanudo cigars and complimentary cocktail cards for Club Macanudo.

Tiki's efforts continued with a golf event at the tony Baltusrol Golf Club. General Cigar was on hand there as well, with a guest cigar roller and additional cigars for each of the golfers. Franco Harris, along with New York area luminaries including Maurice DuBois, Dr. Max Gomez and others helped Tiki to raise funds for disabled children across the country. £
