Richmond, VA - As outdoor smoking weather finally makes its perennial return, General Cigar is doing its part to put a spark into retail sales. The company jumped into second quarter 2008 with intriguing promotions, while continuing to make the rounds at retail with events including Partagas® Quality Nights, La Gloria Cubana® Dominoe Tournaments and Macanudo® Factory Ambassador appearances.
While General Cigar takes a pause from new product debuts in Q2, the company's cigar masters and product development experts are preparing for an exceptional IPCPR show.
The Sancho Panza® Father's Day promotion will have dads dancing in the aisles of select tobacco retail boutiques this summer. A total of forty retailers (comprised of the top-ten Sancho Panza accounts in each of General Cigar's four U.S. sales regions) will be invited to participate in the exciting promotion. Select retail outlets will receive the deluxe barbecue grill which will be raffled off to one lucky winner per store. In the days leading up to the raffle drawing which will be held on Saturday, June 14th, the day before Father's Day, consumers who purchase Sancho Panza cigars will receive chances to win the grill. General Cigar will support the grill giveaway with POS materials and raffle tickets.
While the economy dances on a slippery slope, General Cigar is helping to spur cigar sales with money-saving sample packs. Consumers can now visit their favorite tobacco retailer to enjoy the three rich tastes of Partagas without breaking the bank. A three-pack containing one Partagas Black Label Clásico, 1 Partagas Naturales and 1 Spanish Rosado San Agustin will sell for just $11.10, the price of two cigars.
Bolivar® cigars are doing their money-saving part with its own three pack which recently debuted at retail. Containing a Bolivar Churchill, Toro and Lonsdale, the Bolivar three-pack will sell at retail for $12.30 each.
Marketing efforts also extend to La Gloria Cubana cigars. Three of the most popular La Gloria Cubana si\zes will be available in early June for the price of two. Corona Gorda, Churchill and Wavell frontmarks are contained within the sample pack which will sell for $9.45 apiece.
Initial response at retail to the Helix® Remix® Café Royale sampler pack proves that it's never too hot for coffee. For a suggested retail price of $6.40, cigar lovers can savor the unique flavor of Helix Remix Café Royale cigars. The sample pack highlights the Robusto, Corona and Petite Corona frontmarks and will be available while supplies last. £
