EASTON, PA -- John Spiers of San Mateo, California recently returned from his all-encompassing fantasy trip to Las Vegas where he "represented" Famous Smoke Shop in the "Macanudo Millionaire" poker tournament, which took place from November 4-6 at the Las Vegas Playboy Club in the Palms Hotel and Casino.
Mr. Spiers was accompanied by national essay contest winner, John Muirhead of San Antonio, TX, plus Kerry Malone, of Chattanooga, TN, Matthew Clarke, of Light House Point, FL, Jim Nickels of Cinnaminson, NJ, Fred Fuller of Bryant, Arkansas, James Pinch of Winston Salem, NC, and William Millar of Renton, WA, each of whom represented their respective cigar stores.
After settling-in at The Palms, the winners were treated in VIP-style, including
Macanudo cigars and four gorgeous
Playboy Playmates: Alison Waite (Miss May 2006), Shannon James (Miss May 2007), Jennifer Pershing (Miss March 2009) and Pennelope Jimenez (Miss March 2003).
Then, it's poker time. Since Muirhead was the national winner, he was permitted to bring three guests. They, along with tone winner and guest from the preliminary game for national retail winners, were each dealt a poker hand. The object of the game was to hit a straight flush, which would earn them the $1,000,000.
"While Mr. Spiers was in Vegas for the Mac Millionaire weekend, he was the winner of the weekend," said General Cigar Co./Scandinavian Tobacco Group National Accounts Manager, Seanna Tobin. "He didn't win the million dollars, but he did walk away with $1,000. He was very happy and had a great time."
Famous Smoke Shop retail store manager, David Zayas as well as the rest of the store staff were most pleased, to say the least.
