Richmond, VA— Who says that only Cuban cigar masters can produce an outstanding
puro cigar? And where is it written that only Cuban tobacco is worthy of being made into a puro? General Cigar debunks these notions with a new Honduran puro from Don Tomás.
Called Don Tomás Sungrown, this collection features 100% Honduran tobacco grown in Jamastran and cultivated exclusively for this cigar by General Cigar.
Don Tomás Sungrown is a medium bodied cigar made with a rich, Honduran Jamastran wrapper, a flavorful Honduran binder and a savory Honduran blend. The result is a big, round, deeply satisfying taste with intriguing hints of sweet and spicy flavors.
"We are pleased to present Don Tomás Sungrown, one of the finest examples of a stand-out Honduran cigar," said General Cigar's vice president of marketing, Cooper Gardiner. "Don Tomás Sungrown features the highest quality Honduran wrapper, binder and filler tobaccos that took years to blend into a truly unique cigar. Combine the accessible price with the smoothness of Don Tomás Sungrown and the result is a Honduran puro that we predict will be a very successful addition to General Cigar's portfolio."
The five-cigar collection will be packaged in boxes of 25 cigars each, and the suggested retail prices are as follows: The Rothschild (4 ½" x 50) and the Cetro # 2 (6 ½" x 4) will sell for $3.70 per cigar or $92.50 per box. The Robusto (5 ½" x 50) will carry an SRP of $3.20 per cigar, or $80.00 per box. At 7 ½" x 50, the Presidente will sell for $4.10 apiece, or $102.50 per box. The Gigante, which measures 6" x 60, will carry an SRP of $5.00 per cigar, with a box price of $125. £
