Nashville (Jan. 7) - CAO, one of the world's foremost premium cigar manufacturers, was selected as the exclusive cigar sponsor to the HBO Golden Globe Awards Luxury Lounge for the second consecutive year, to be hosted at The Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on January 11-12.
The luxury suite will host presenters, nominees, and invited VIP guests of the 65th Annual Golden Globe® Awards. The awards show will be broadcast live on NBC January 13. It will be viewed in more than 150 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies to span both television and film achievements. Guests of the HBO Golden Globe Awards Luxury Lounge will be offered their choice of CAO products including CAO The Sopranos™ Edition Cigars and CAO Vision Cigars.
Among the invited celebrities will be Johnny Depp ("Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street "), Angelina Jolie ("A Mighty Heart"), Denzel Washington ("American Gangster"), Keira Knightley ("Atonement"), and Tom Hanks ("Charlie Wilson’s War").
Last year CAO was the exclusive cigar featured at the HBO Emmy® Awards Luxury Lounge and has been the cigar brand of choice for the past two People’s Choice Awards along with the past two Critic's Choice Awards.
Editor's Note (1/8/08): Due to the ongoing Hollywood Writers Guild strike, movie and television actors are honoring the picket line and have decided not to appear on the broadcast. As a result, yesterday the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which presents the awards, announced the decision to cancel the show in an e-mailed statement.
