Altadis USA bows new H. Upmann 1844 Reserve and Diamondback Cigars

H. Upmann 1844 Reserve(Ft. Lauderdale, FL) -- A spokesman at the company called it "perhaps our finest H. Upmann yet."

Embodying H. Upmann’s long tradition of fine cigar making, the new 1844 Reserve was introduced at this year's IPCPR show and began shipping last month. 

From its intricate and complex flavor sensations to its great white ash, the new 1844 Reserve captures everything aficionados have loved about H. Upmann cigars, and then some! This superb, fuller-bodied smoke is handcrafted in the Dominican Republic and features an Ecuadorian Cubano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Dominican filler tobaccos.

H. Upmann 1844 Reserve is available in a (33 X 4 ½ ) Demitasse size, which is packaged in boxes of 60 and has a suggested retail price of $2.25 per stick. Larger sizes include Corona (44 x 5 ½), Robusto (50 X 5), Churchill (50 X 7), Belicoso (52 X 6 1/8) and Toro (54 X 6). Suggested retail prices range from $5.25 to $6.75.

DiamondbackSmooth, mild and aromatic, with just a touch of sweetness, the new Diamondback cigar also began shipping in July.

Diamondback represents a major launch for Altadis U.S.A. "We’re very excited about this introduction," said an Altadis U.S.A. spokesperson. “Diamondback will be a very important new product for us.”

Ranging in price from $4.25 to $5.00, this new cigar is a great value as well as an excellent smoke.

Blended in Nicaragua by Omar Ortez, Diamondback features a hand-selected Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper encasing a Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos. The cigar is available in four sizes: Corona (44 X 5 ½), Churchill (52 X 7), Robusto (54 X 5) and Toro (54 X 6). It is packaged in boxes of 20.

Vega FinaIn other Altadis USA news, Vega Fina, the popularly priced premium cigar, has a newly redesigned box and band. In addition to the updated graphics, the new boxes now hold 20 cigars. This mild to medium-bodied smoke is handcrafted in the Dominican Republic with a very fine Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. It is reasonably priced for a cigar of this superior quality at $4.25 to $5.50 per stick retail.

VegaFina is available in the following sizes: No. 5 Perla (40 X 4), Corona (43 X 5 ¾), Lonsdale (43 X 6 ½), Robusto (50 X 5), Toro (50 X 6), Torpedo (50 X 6), and Churchill (50 X 7 ½).

Finally, Romeo y Julieta has added a new Magnum shape to its popular Reserva Real line. Packaged in boxes of 20 cigars, the new frontmark measures 60 X 6" and has a suggested retail price of $6.50.

Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic with a premium, hand-selected Connecticut Shade Ecuadorian wrapper, Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real is an superb medium-bodied smoke that has achieved outstanding ratings in the 90s.
