Last month I wrote about how I taste-sampled cigars in Danli, Honduras and Esteli, Nicaragua. One of the other experiences I had in Danli & Esteli was getting to see the cigar box making process, which is almost as fascinating and detailed at the cigar making process and equally as labor intensive. As with premium cigars, everything is done by hand.

The story of the Pinar cigar line is well known. A very old batch of pre-embargo Cuban tobacco was discovered in a New Jersey warehouse in 1998 and the result was the famed Pinar line, created and distributed by Puros de Armando Ramos.
