Squeezing out sparks

Q. Sometimes when I blow on my cigar during the lighting process, my hand gets sprayed with sparks. Any ideas?

A.
I've got the perfect answer for you, which was sent to me regarding a tip I wrote on lighting cigars a while back. It comes from "Mac" in Vienna, Virginia.

"I learned this cigar lighting tip from none other than Zino Davidoff, himself, when I lived in Geneva, Switzerland in 1966. The technique will not shower you with sparks because you do not light the cigar. Instead, you heat it with a match - much as you would do any fine cigar before lighting it - but a bit hotter. When the fuselage is nice and warm, THEN you blow out through it and light it immediately."
