"Rounding out" square-shaped cigars

Q. Are all Padron cigar sizes box-pressed? I like the taste of Padron very much so I order some from time to time. They always arrive box-pressed. However, in the catalog photos they look round. I like the flavor of Padron cigars but I don't like the feel of a box-pressed cigar in my mouth.

A.
Yes, Padron cigars are box-pressed, yet some are slightly rounder-looking than others. The high-end Padron cigars such as the Padron Anniversary 1964 cigars and Padron 1926 cigars series are sharply box-pressed. Suffice to say, the box-pressed shape is a Padron hallmark.

I'm also aware that some cigar smokers are not comfortable with a square shaped cigar, but if it's only from time to time, I have a tip for you: Once the head of the cigar has been softened from being in your mouth a while, you can gently bite down on the corners and round it out. Remember, the cigar was round before it was square. It takes a little practice, but that's the best I can suggest if you want to continue enjoying Padron cigars.
