Q. Do you know what the numbers on the back of OpusX boxes mean, like 175 025? It's on one of my boxes and several other boxes, but not all - sometimes in gold, sometimes in black.
The reason why I'm so interested in this is, I would like to know a way of determining from hat year a certain cigar is. In the past I have bought boxes from retailers that were rated 93 points, for example, but were not near this score when I smoked them. So when Cigar Insider tells me to buy an Opus X Robusto 2007 because it's so excellent, how can I be sure?

A. The numbers on the back of the box show what number the box is in the edition. So, your box is number 25 of the 175 boxes in that particular size produced for that particular " vintage," "year," etc.
To answer the second part of your question, you can never be sure how "excellent" any given cigar is going to be until you smoke it. With all due respect to the editors at Cigar Insider, don't take their word as gospel.
