Q. What does "boutique brand" mean?

A. "Boutique brand" generally refers to premium cigars made in a small factory that produces a limited number of cigars and line extensions, and is not part of a major distributor (i.e. General Cigar, Altadis U.S.A, et. al.).

Although some boutique brands are eventually brought into the fold of the majors, such as E/O Brands (601 Cigars), now being distributed by Miami Cigar Company, most market their cigars independently. Tabacos S.
A. (777 cigars by Jesus Fuego) is a good example of a boutique factory, as are cigars made by Tatuaje, Arganese, Alec Bradley, and Cusano, to name a few.
