601 La Bomba "Atom"
Country of Origin: Nicaragua / My Father Factory
Size: 5¼" x 46
Strength: Extreme Full
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano
Filler & Binder: Nicaraguan
Presentation: Boxes of 10 cigars
Appearance and feel: Dark, silky and moderately veiny wrapper. Pigtail trails down from the head of the cigar.
Paired with: Spring water
Draw: Very good
Pre-light flavor: Woody and peppery
Toasting & Light: Lit well and evenly
First puff: Peppery, but not overpoweringly spicy with a hint of sweetness
Retrohale: Very peppery
Base flavors: Earthy, semi-sweet, woody and red pepper
Aroma: Sweet and a little sharp
Burn / Ash: Decent burn, flaky ash
General Observations: Very stealth. Erik Espinosa told me this cigar was quite potent. I could tell it was strong in nicotine, but it was also very smooth which made the strength very stealth and hard to tell. The flavor is mainly of dark tobacco with mostly woody flavors and a spicy-peppery character with scintilla of sweetness in the mix.
Summary: This is a cigar that truly lives up to its name. It is made for the experienced smoker who has developed a taste for this kind of cigar. I'm not normally a fan of strong spicy cigars, but in this case I have to make an exception. Well worth adding to your wish list.
