Strength: Mild
Wrapper: Sumatra
Filler: Dominican
Binder: Dominican
Since I haven't featured any flavored cigars for this column, I thought I'd go with a good coffee flavored selection this week, the Solo Café Toro. The cigars are made in the Dominican Republic with a mild Dominican longleaf core rolled in sweetened Sumatra wrappers, and offer a mellow mocha java flavor.
Since coffee is the #1 non-alcoholic drink among cigar smokers, these cigars make a tasty companion, especially in the morning or afternoon. Some may find more coffee "flavor" in the aroma than on the palate, but either way, if you're into coffee-infused cigars, or just looking for a nice "change of pace" smoke, the Solo Café Toro offers a smooth, relaxing experience at a reasonable price point. Moreover, the quality is superb, and though they were originally offered without bands, they now boast attractive collars, so they're more easily identifiable.
As is the case with any cigar, they're not for everybody, but if you're curious about flavored cigars at all, the Solo Café Toro is an affordable place to start. Enjoy.
