If you're an avid cigar smoker, chances are you've come across La Flor Dominicana cigars. Created by famed master blender, Litto Gomez, and first introduced in 1994 under the name "Los Libertadores" these
boutique cigars are renowned for their creamy character, extraordinary tobaccos, lush wrappers, and consistently high tasting scores. Actually, there are so many selections from Litto's factory they'd be easier to weigh than count. Among them include the limited edition "Signature Series" by Litto Gomez made expressly for Famous Smoke Shop.
Although I generally prefer Toros, the Robusto really captures the spirit of the series. Like all of Litto's cigars, the Signature Series Robusto is seamlessly handcrafted. The blend consists of choice Nicaraguan longfillers, Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed binders and dark Nicaraguan-grown wrappers. The cigar is full-bodied, not unlike the La Flor Dominicana Ligero edition, offering a hearty and complex smoke that's really smooth, too. There are also lots of earthy, woody and spicy flavors with an underlying sweetness in the mix.
Compared to most of the La Flor lines, the Signature Series is reasonably priced, too. This is a great way to discover a luxury-class smoke without breaking the bank. To that end, I also recommend starting with the
5-pack.
I wish there were more customer comments and scores on these cigars, so you'll have to judge for yourself. In any event, they're worth a shot and won't be around forever.
