Size: 6" x 54
Wrapper: African Cameroon
Filler: Nicaraguan
Binder: African Cameroon
With prices suddenly shrinking on CAO cigars of late, I thought I'd roll out one of my favorites, the CAO CX2 Toro. If you happened to catch our most recent Famous Cigar Buying Guide email that featured all Cameroon-wrapped cigars, you may have noticed the Guide Sampler #9 includes a CAO Cameroon. That cigar is pretty nice on its own. Now, take it up a notch. The CAO CX2 gets its name from the fact that in addition to the naturally sweet African Cameroon wrapper on this cigar, the blend also uses a Cameroon binder. The CX2 edition is also round, rather than box-pressed like the regular Cameroon series.
The CX2 Toro is a luscious candy bar of a smoke, brimming with sweetness, yet it packs a nice, full-flavored, yet medium-bodied punch from an all-Nicaraguan longfiller core. I also like the dimensions of this cigar. At 6"x 54 you get a lot for your money, plus the wider size offers excellent balance and creaminess. I usually pick up flavors of sweet wood, coffee, and a note of nutmeg in the mix.
Just about all the reviews on the CAO CX2 Toro are raves, too, earning it a Famous customer rating of 95. If you love the naturally sweet flavor of top-grade Cameroon leaf and a little zing, check it out. It pairs up great with coffee, Tawny Port, or a good Single Malt Scotch, too.
Enjoy!
